Melanotan 2 nasal spray, also known as MT2, is widely utilized as a tanning peptide (melanogenesis).

Natural occurring alpha-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone) has been synthesized into MT2, resulting in melanogenesis. The skin’s melanocytes (tanning cells) create melanin throughout this process (pigment). Therefore, one of the hormones contributing to tanning and darkened skin is Melanotan, an analogue of a peptide found in melanocyte stimulating hormone.

Melanotan 2 contains the Bremelanotide metabolite, which increases libido and sexual performance with few side effects. This is mainly due to the hypothalamus’ impact on the user.

Medical researchers are increasingly interested in MT2's ability in preventing skin cancers, but more evidence is needed to establish the efficacy of this lab made chemical for safety reasons. However, research is very promising as shown in many clinical studies.
